Our functional medicine curriculum covers bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) including testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, and thyroid optimization. You'll learn comprehensive lab interpretation, hormone pellet insertion techniques (where scope permits), GLP-1 weight management protocols, adrenal function assessment, sexual dysfunction treatments, and integrative approaches to chronic conditions.
Yes. Our Functional Medicine Training course awards 7.5 continuing education credits. All AAOPM courses provide AAOPM certification and a Certificate of Completion. We also offer a pathway to AAOPM Board Certification in Anti-Aging/Functional Medicine for NPs who complete the required coursework.
In full practice authority states (over 25 states), NPs can independently prescribe bioidentical hormones and related medications. In reduced or restricted practice states, NPs work under collaborative agreements with physicians. Our training covers both the clinical skills and regulatory considerations for your specific practice setting. We recommend reviewing your state's NP practice act.
Our courses combine evidence-based didactic sessions covering physiology, testing, and treatment protocols with hands-on case study reviews.
