Common questions about aesthetic training for nurse practitioners.

Scope of practice varies by state. Many states allow NPs to perform aesthetic procedures independently under their nursing license, while others require physician collaboration or supervision. AAOPM training prepares you for practice within your state's regulations. We recommend checking with your state board of nursing for specific requirements.
Nurse practitioners can enroll in all AAOPM aesthetic courses including Comprehensive Botox Training, Dermal Filler Training, PRP Therapy, Advanced Injectables, Sclerotherapy, and combination courses. Our curriculum is designed for healthcare professionals with clinical backgrounds and requires no prior aesthetic experience.
All AAOPM courses are AAOPM certified. Additionally, select courses may award continuing education credits when applicable based on course requirements. Upon completion, you receive an AAOPM Certificate of Completion.
Aesthetic-trained NPs work in medical spas, dermatology practices, plastic surgery offices, wellness centers, and independent aesthetic practices. Many NPs also start their own aesthetic businesses. Salaries for aesthetic NPs typically exceed those in traditional nursing roles, with experienced injectors earning $100,000-$200,000+ annually.
Our courses emphasize hands-on training with live patients. Depending on the course, you'll perform 10-30+ injections under direct faculty supervision. This real-world practice ensures you're confident and competent before treating patients in your practice. We maintain small class sizes to maximize hands-on time.
