Absolutely. Emergency medicine physicians are excellent candidates for aesthetic medicine. Your medical training, procedural experience, and patient assessment skills provide a strong foundation for cosmetic procedures. All AAOPM courses are AAOPM certified. Additionally, select courses may award CME credits when applicable based on course requirements. Upon completion, you receive an AAOPM Certificate of Completion documenting your training.
Many EM physicians start by taking weekend aesthetic courses while continuing their ED work. After gaining competency, some gradually reduce EM shifts while building an aesthetic practice. Others make a complete transition. AAOPM offers foundational courses in Botox and fillers, followed by advanced training as you develop your skills.
