Course Overview
EMG & NCV Training Course Overview
This EMG and NCV training course provides physicians, NPs, PAs, and chiropractors with a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate nerve conduction studies and electromyography into clinical practice. This hands-on 2-day EMG certification course covers both the technical skills and clinical interpretation needed to perform electrodiagnostic testing confidently.
Expand your clinical knowledge in the diagnosis, evaluation, and electrodiagnostic testing of neuromuscular and peripheral nervous system disorders. NCV/EMG services are among the highest-reimbursement diagnostic procedures in pain management, with strong patient demand across all practice settings.
Train hands-on with board-certified faculty in small group settings using the latest EMG equipment. Earn your EMG certification and gain the neuroanatomy knowledge and electrophysiological skills to perform and accurately interpret electrodiagnostic studies.

Electrodiagnostic Training Course Details
The AAOPM NCV/EMG Training Workshop consists of both didactic and hands-on training for performing diagnostic procedures. The course includes protocols, a color manual, detailed illustrations, testing forms, and intake forms.
The supervised hands-on portion consists of attendees performing the most common types of testing for various anatomical areas, learning the clinical "pearls" over the 2-day workshop. All attendees must show proficiency in performing these tests to successfully complete certification training.
Topics Covered:
- Regulatory guidelines for NCV/EMG
- Billing and coding for reimbursement
- Anatomy and physiology of nerve conduction
- Sensory nerve testing techniques
- Motor nerve testing techniques
- EMG needle examination
- Upper extremity studies
- Lower extremity studies
- F-wave and H-reflex studies
- Equipment selection and use
The workshop is taught by Board-Certified Physicians and specialists who provide a quality learning experience using the latest technology and procedures.
