Course Overview
NCV Training courses provide a comprehensive understanding of how to integrate nerve conduction studies into your practice. This 2-Day workshop is designed for physicians and licensed healthcare professionals wishing to learn how to perform these diagnostic tests and certify themselves in the procedures.
Expand your clinical knowledge in the diagnosis, evaluation, and testing of neuromuscular and peripheral nervous system disorders. Our board-certified faculty provides quality instruction in a small group setting using the latest technology and procedures.
Upon completion, attendees will develop knowledge of neuroanatomy and electrophysiological norms to perform electrodiagnostic testing and accurately interpret results.
Flexible Training Options
Whether you prefer hands-on training with expert supervision or the convenience of remote learning, we have a format that fits your schedule.
Get hands-on experience with NCV/EMG equipment under expert supervision. Practice testing techniques on live subjects with real-time feedback from our faculty.
Join our interactive livestream sessions from anywhere. Watch live demonstrations, ask questions in real-time, and complete your didactic training remotely.
Eligible Medical Professionals
This course is designed for licensed medical professionals looking to add electrodiagnostic testing to their practice.
NCV/EMG diagnostic procedures require appropriate licensure and training. Always verify your state's scope of practice regarding electrodiagnostic testing.
Course Information
Everything you need to know about our comprehensive electrodiagnostic training program.
Upon successful completion of this course, attendees will be able to:
Diagnostic Technologies
Use NCV/EMG technologies to improve knowledge and technical skills to provide enhanced care to patients with nerve injuries and pain pathologies.
Test Performance and Interpretation
Observe and perform EMG and NCV tests, interpret results, and communicate findings from examinations effectively.
Neurophysiology Knowledge
Develop better knowledge of nerve physiology, peripheral nervous system anatomy, and compound motor action potential.
NCV Testing Proficiency
Gain understanding of sensory nerve NCV testing (sural, median, ulnar), motor nerve NCV testing (median, ulnar, peroneal, tibial), and late responses (F wave, H wave, A wave).
EMG Testing Proficiency
Master EMG testing including fasciculation contractions, motor unit potential morphology, needle placement technique, fibrillation potentials, and sharp wave potentials.
Clinical Applications
Gain knowledge of pain pathologies and diseases associated with NCV/EMG testing including radiculopathies, plexopathy disorders, myopathies, and neuropathies.
The AAOPM NCV/EMG Training Workshop consists of both didactic and hands-on training for performing diagnostic procedures. The course includes protocols, a color manual, detailed illustrations, testing forms, and intake forms.
The supervised hands-on portion consists of attendees performing the most common types of testing for various anatomical areas, learning the clinical "pearls" over the 2-day workshop. All attendees must show proficiency in performing these tests to successfully complete certification training.
The workshop is taught by Board-Certified Physicians and specialists who provide a quality learning experience using the latest technology and procedures.
Participants who complete the NCV/EMG Training Course will receive:
After completing this training, you will be eligible for additional certifications including:
